Where Fear and Courage Meet
The Tri Balance Motto
As the Canadian Triathlon and open water season draws to a close, I am in awe of so many athletes who tackled their fears with the courage to swim further, colder, or in the ocean. Also, many of you ran after an injury, tried running a trail for the first time or rode an elevation you never thought possible.
Fear
Fear is a powerful emotion. I watch your faces full of dismay and see physiological responses attached to your fear. I love that you put your trust in me during a vulnerable time. We can tackle your fear together.
Courage
Your courageous actions are why I love what I do! I get to live vicariously through all of you, and my reward is sharing your accomplishments. Your willingness to take action in the face of fear takes mental strength. I applaud you.
Pride
Be proud of yourself! No matter where you are in your journey, feel pride in what you have done so far. Do it – take a moment of reflection and compliment yourself. I am proud of you 👏. You demonstrated resilience. You overcame challenges. You trained while juggling your busy work and family life. You worked through that fear, and you did it!
Inspiration
You are an inspiration! When our friends, families, and colleagues witness you confronting your fears, it motivates and encourages them to do the same. This ripple effect will positively change everyone you cross paths with.
Where Fear and Courage Meet
I define ‘Where Fear and Courage Meet’ as a juncture where choices are made, growth occurs, and resilience is tested. It’s a reminder that courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to act despite it, and it’s often in these moments that individuals find their true strength and potential.
Thank you for allowing me to help you find your true strength and potential. I look forward to many more inspirations in the future 🏊♀️🚴🏽♂️🏃🏻♀️
